So it’s been a month since I officially launched my GT40th – but what have I been up to?
Well first off, I need to give huge thanks to the @BritishGT for re-tweeting my blog page link, and for encouraging motorsport fans to get in touch. I have received lots of messages of support and have been genuinely touched by people’s willingness to help-out. A special thanks to Andy from @EnduranceandGT for his great suggestions regarding places to stay in Spa, and another shout out to Dan-the-man for his help with sorting accommodation near Brands. I should also say a thanks to Demon Tweeks for their extended welcome from Barwell Motorsport. Little by little, it’s all coming together. Whilst the season opener at Oulton Park isn’t until 16-17 April, I’ve already booked my hotel – and will be buying my tickets as soon as they go on sale. I’ve seen that tickets for the other Rounds are beginning to go on sale as well – and I hope that if I put them on my Christmas list, Santa might just sort me out…. I can also report that the kids and me have been busy ‘Blue Peter’ style, and have been making our own un-official merchandise!! We’ve speculated that the one item we are most likely to need is an umbrella, and so we’ve been creative and have been designing our own. A few snaps of the said items are just below. As I’ve said before, if you see us at any of the races (with the DIY umbrella’s) then do come over and say hello. It would be great to meet fellow motorsport fans.

....today I turn 39 and formally enter my 40th year....but what a year ahead!
Time is on my side with the opening round at Oulton Park not happening until 15 April 2017. However, I'm going to need to start planning my trips... If you have any top tips for cheap accommodation near any of the circuits (especially Spa) - or recommended viewing spots to take in all the action, just leave a comment below. Thanks! |
